Springshed management or catchment area development was a project initiated with support from Tata Water Mission in 4 villages of Tuensang District.

The idea of underground water treatment was very new to the community in Nagaland when the project was initiated in 2013. Geo-hydrologist from Pune, Advanced Centre for Water Resource Development and Management (ACWADAM) supported ECS in identifying the recharge area and a complete map of the location was identified. Trenches were dug in order to capture the rain water.

This activity was later scaled up in another 4 villages in 4 Districts of Nagaland supported by The Department of Rural Development, Government of Nagaland, in the year 2016.
