Freedom from illnesses and related fatalities in the developing world depends, to a large extent on the provision of drinking water and proper sanitation along with other basic necessities.

A Rainwater Harvesting and sanitation project was implemented in 4 villages (Noksen, Yangpi, Longra, and Litem) of Tuensang District as a drinking water and sanitation pilot project, supported by the Tata water Mission for a period of 6 years from 2013-2019.

A total of 705 sanitary toilets were constructed along with 634 Ferro cement roof rainwater harvesting tanks and 104 steel alume tanks were constructed in these 4 villages.
