Milaap partnered with ECS to help raise funds to support the struggling families of Eastern Nagaland during the Covid-19 pandemic. The initiative was started in 2020 and is still ongoing.

Through the funds raised, ECS was able to:

-Disseminate 2,35,000 N95 face masks to frontline functionaries who are most vulnerable and require this for their safety. Through the help of the district administration and local churches, the masks were distributed in all the districts of Nagaland.

-ECS also bought Rapid Antigen Test kits to be utilized by the ECS Health workers and PHC medical staff to identify those patients from most underprivileged backgrounds and enable their testing as the testing rate in Nagaland was Rs. 1500 per person which could not be afforded by a majority of the farmers from the villages. Having the RAT kits made testing easier and more accessible to the most marginalized communities.

-Food rations for 300 households in Tuensang and 5000 cloth face-masks were provided to citizens through the district administration.

-With the second wave of Covid -19 hitting the state in 2021, ECS is proactively engaged with the Tuensang district task force in setting up a quarantine centre for those people who did not have a place to isolate themselves. ECS is currently in the process of raising funds to set up a covid Care Centre with 100 beds each in Tuensang and Mon.
