Through a tripartite effort by the community at Changlangshu village, State Health Department and North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR), New Delhi and facilitated by ECS, a non-functional PHC at Changlangshu was completely renovated and made functional.
The PHC was completely in a rundown state and was basically a pigsty before the intervention. Through rigorous community mobilization and sensitization of village stakeholders and efforts put forward by all the three partners, the PHC was re-built and made functional.
It now caters to all the nearby villages in the Monyakshu range of the Mon-Tobu block. There is an MO, nurses, pharmacist, administrator working as full-time staff in the PHC. The centre also has a small functional lab and staff quarters built within the campus.
The PHC is now an empanelled unit under the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), a health insurance scheme that provides cover up to 5 lacs.
